Moss staff and contributors gathered at Seattle’s Hugo House to celebrate the issue with readings from Kim Fu, Matt Briggs, Nanya Jhingran, Shin Yu Pai, Rita Wirkala, and Katherine Morgan. A “multimedia performance event—centered around creativity and the Pacific Northwest” (The Stranger, Recommended Event) hosted at Folio in Seattle. Featuring a reading by Eric Wagner of his autobiographical essay about the connection between his experiences growing up on the Oregon Coast and Beethoven’s “Appassionata” sonata, followed by a performance of the sonata by distinguished Seattle pianist Mark Salman.
